🗓️ July 4, 2020 – Updated guidelines to entry to Abu Dhabi Emirate
According to the new updated guidelines, those leaving Abu Dhabi Emirate for short periods may visit a screening centre in the emirate to conduct a COVID-19 test before departing. The result for the same can be presented to the authorities on return.
The result would be valid for entry into Abu Dhabi if it is received within 48 hours.
Presenting the test result more than 48 hours after receipt, will not be considered valid. A new test will have to be taken outside the emirate in this case.
🗓️ July 3, 2020 – UAE citizens and residents are now able to travel
National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) announce that all citizens and residents in the UAE are now able travel in accordance with the health preventive and precautionary requirements enforced within the UAE’s airports and the destinations’ regulations.

🗓️ July 3, 2020 – COVID-19 test to enter Abu Dhabi Emirate
Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disaster for COVID-19 Committee, together with Abu Dhabi Police and Department of Health, informs that all those planning to enter Abu Dhabi are required to take a COVID-19 test outside the emirate.
The text message showing a negative test result received within 48 hours must be shown in order to enter. All texts for tests taken in Abu Dhabi will not be valid for entry.
🗓️ July 3, 2020 – Reopening of some parks and public beaches in Abu Dhabi – UPDATE
Authorities inform that showing your COVID-19 test result through the Al Hosn app is not required anymore for entering pubic parks and beaches.
🗓️ July 2, 2020 – Reopening of some parks and public beaches in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Department of Municipality and Transportation announces the re-opening of some parks and public beaches in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, starting from Friday July 3rd , at the 40% cap.
The list includes the following parks: Umm Al Emarat Park and Khalifa Park in Abu Dhabi, Al Sulaimi Park in Al Ain and Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafrah.
And the following beaches: Hudayriat Beach and Corniche Beach in Abu Dhabi, and Al Mirfa Beach in Al Dhafrah.
The authorities inform that it is mandatory to book the visit in advance through the SmartHub platform (https://smarthub.adm.gov.ae/login) and urge all visitors to follow precautionary and preventative measures, in line with the Government announcements.
🗓️ July 1, 2020 – New guidelines for traveling abroad
Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, Official Spokesperson at NCEMA announces the reasons permitted for traveling abroad at the moment. Are allowed travels for UAE residents who wish to visit to their home countries, and business travels, for those in commercial and economic sectors.
Other reasons permitted are:
– Study
– Medical treatment
– Diplomatic mission
– Official business of government
– Private sector business travel
Travel for leisure or tourism will not be permitted at this time.
🗓️ June 30, 2020 – Gradual reopening of mosques, prayer spaces, and other places of worship
The UAE government announces that mosques, prayer spaces, and other places of worship will gradually reopen from July 1st and operate at 30 percent capacity. The development comes in coordination with relevant federal and local authorities who continue to take all considerations for precautionary and preventive measures.
🗓️ June 29, 2020 – New rules for entering Abu Dhabi Emirate
Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee for the COVID-19 Pandemic, in collaboration with Department of Health and Abu Dhabi Police, announces that entering Abu Dhabi Emirate is now permitted for all those who have received negative results from the COVID-19 test within the previous 48 hours.
Results must be shown via the Alhosn App, or text message received from any hospital, or any screening center in the UAE affiliated to the National Screening Program.
The movement of mail and all types of goods is exempted.
The public must continue to adhere to all precautionary measures, including wearing masks and observing physical distancing inside vehicles.
Entry of non-Abu Dhabi-based workers is still prohibited.
🗓️ June 29, 2020 – Lifted restrictions for boating and yachting
Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, Official Spokesperson at NCEMA (National Crisis Emergency and Disaster Management Authority) announces that restrictions have been lifted on the use of excursion boats as well as personal and commercial yachts, with a maximum capacity of 50% passengers onboard. The use of jet skis is limited to one person at a time.
🗓️ June 27, 2020 – Resumption of individual indoor sporting activities and gyms
Abu Dhabi Sports Council announces, effective from July 1st, the resumption of individual indoor sporting activities across Abu Dhabi. The provision includes gyms also, that are now able to operate 24/7, provided that gym-goers, trainers and technical staff adhere to the prescribed guidelines and precautionary measures that, according to ADSC, have been set together with the other competent authorities, such as NCEMA and DoH.
Indoor activities can be accessed, with 40% capacity, by citizens and residents from 12 to 60 years old.
Guidelines for trainers and technical staff include undergoing COVID-19 testing before resuming activities, wearing masks and gloves at all times, and changing them frequently.
Staff must also sterilize sports equipment before use and every hour, maintain physical distancing, and sterilize surfaces and equipment after use (every 2 hours).
Guidelines for those going to these facilities include undergoing thermal checkups before and during training sessions, wearing face masks and hand gloves at all times and changing them frequently.
Participants must also observe physical distancing (at least 2m), carry personal hygiene kits, and train individually except for during group training sessions.
🗓️ June 25, 2020 – New capacity volumes for shopping centers and restaurants increased to 60%
The Ministry of Health and Prevention and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), have raised the cap allowed in commercial centers and restaurants to 60%, provided all preventive and precautionary measures.
🗓️ June 25, 2020 – Lifting of night-time movement restrictions in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for COVID-19 Pandemic and Abu Dhabi Police announce that, following the completion of the National Sterilization Program in Abu Dhabi, residents may now move freely within Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Exiting Abu Dhabi does not require a permit, while the entry ban to Abu Dhabi remains in place, except for pre-exempted categories.
